Cirrus Real Time Processing Systems (“Cirrus”), Australia’s leading mission training systems developer, has today announced it has successfully delivered its Air Combat Officer Training System (ACOTS) to its German client, Aerodata AG.
The ACOTS training system has been developed by Cirrus to provide end to end simulation of the air mission battle-space and the operation of platform sensor, weapons, avionics and mission systems within a tactically immersive synthetic environment. Under an export order announced earlier this year, Cirrus has adapted ACOTS to simulate the surveillance sensors that Aerodata has fitted to airborne maritime surveillance aircraft, and has integrated ACOTS to the AeroMission suite used to manage the sensors within surveillance missions.
Cirrus’ Managing Director, Mr Peter Freed stated: “We are a proud Australian company delivering sophisticated Australian developed technology to defence clients, and I am very pleased to announce the recent successful delivery of ACOTS to Aerodata’s facility in Braunschweig, Germany. This has flowed from the strong cooperation between Cirrus and Aerodata in completing the simulation adaptation and integration, and confirms the quality and competitiveness on the world market of Cirrus’ ACOTS – Australian developed simulation technology. The Defence Industry Development Strategy (“DIDS”) recognises that exports grow the resilience of Australia’s defence industry base and industry’s capacity to support Defence, and this successful export underscores the industrial capabilities resident in Australia for air mission training.“
